As SCOTUS Begins Case on Mississippi Abortion Ban, Tom Kean Jr. Is A Threat To Reproductive Rights

Today, the Supreme Court hears oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to a Mississippi law that bans abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy — which could unravel the constitutional right to abortion guaranteed by Roe v. Wade. Should this extreme law be upheld, 26 states could move to ban the right to abortion, and individuals across the country could have 50 years of precedent and constitutionally-secured rights stripped away from them.

This Mississippi law is just one of the latest attacks on a woman’s right to make her own decision about her body. Republican extremism at every level of government is to blame for the continued threat to women’s freedoms and health care.

Tom Kean Jr’s anti-healthcare record shows he can’t be trusted to protect reproductive rights. He’s voted to restrict a woman’s right to choose, to defund Planned Parenthood, and is backed by anti-abortion groups.

DCCC Spokesperson James Singer

“Tom Kean Jr. can’t be trusted to protect reproductive rights across the country and in New Jersey. He’s standing with extreme Republicans as they ban abortion for millions of women.”
