As Trump Comes To Town Screaming For Shutdown, MAGA Republican Scott Baugh Would Help Shutter Government

As Donald Trump keynotes the California GOP convention kickoff tonight, the country is less than two days from a GOP-manufactured government shutdown – and in Congress, MAGA Republican Scott Baugh would help pursue an extreme agenda that attacks the middle class instead of keeping the government open.

As a reminder:

• Baugh is a long-time opponent of abortion rights, and opposes abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

• Baugh praised Trump’s tax scam that cut taxes for the wealthy while raising taxes on millions of California families.

• Baugh was chair of the Orange County Republican Party as it was embroiled in a voter fraud scandal that resulted in arrests.

• Baugh has leaned into extremist culture war issues, even claiming that “wokism” is more threatening to the country than the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, both world wars and the Civil War.”
