Ashley Hinson Agrees with Joni Ernst: Iowans Losing Health Care Isn’t a ‘Real Problem’ [Bloomberg]

In case you missed it (you probably didn’t), Joni Ernst told Iowans that their concerns about losing health care due to Medicaid cuts don’t matter, because “we are all going to die.”

When asked about Ernst’s comments yesterday evening, Ashley Hinson claimed that Iowans losing their health care isn’t a “real problem” – and that “the real problem here about Medicaid” isn’t that Iowans will lose their coverage, but that all of this is just “fearmongering.”

As more reports reveal it’s Republicans who are the ones lying, we wish her the best of luck with selling that fairytale to the more than 14,300 of her constituents who will lose their Medicaid coverage thanks to the cruel cuts she rubberstamped.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Ashley Hinson doesn’t think that Iowans losing their lifesaving health care is a ‘real problem.’ Just like Joni Ernst, Hinson is disturbingly out-of-touch and proved it with her callous vote to slash Medicaid and rip health care away from her constituents to fund tax breaks for billionaires.”

Watch for yourself:

Joe Mathieu:  “Did your senator just make a political mess for you or did Joni Ernst put this story to rest in that graveyard?”

Ashley Hinson: “First and foremost, I can tell you that the Democrats fearmongering is the real problem here about Medicaid… And so, I think the Democrats fearmongering is the real problem here.”
