Last week at a Brooklyn town hall, Ashley Hinson said the quiet part out loud about Republicans’ agenda to threaten Iowa seniors’ Social Security.
Hinson promised that if Republicans take control of the House, they will have to make “tough decisions” about Social Security and hinted that cuts may be on their way.
Hinson’s admission comes after GOP Senator Rick Scott received bipartisan criticism for his plan that “could mean an end to Social Security” – so it’s no wonder House Republican leadership still won’t release their midterm agenda.
“Ashley Hinson must come clean on what ‘tough decisions’ a House Republican majority would make about the Social Security benefits seniors have earned,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn.
