Ashley Hinson Votes AGAINST Capping Insulin Prices

No thanks to Hinson, House passes bipartisan bill aimed to prevent excessive prices for life-saving and life-sustaining drug

Today, the House passed historic and bipartisan legislation that, if enacted, will cap consumers’ out-of-pocket cost for insulin at $35 per month – a move that voters overwhelmingly supportAshley Hinson voted against it.

There are nearly 30 million Americans diagnosed with diabetes, and for the millions who require insulin, the prescription drug often makes the difference between life and death. Tragically, studies found that nearly a quarter of diabetes patients have been forced to ration or even skip their medication due to skyrocketing costs.

Ashley Hinson once again shamefully chose to abandon Iowans, voting against commonsense, broadly popular legislation that would help ensure more Americans can afford the drug that keeps them alive and well. Hinson’s vote is a slap in the face to Iowans after just last month she made an empty promise to support lowering insulin costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Elena Kuhn:
“With each shameful vote, Ashley Hinson is building the case against herself this election cycle. Voters won’t forget that when given the opportunity to lower costs and save lives, Hinson turned back on her empty promises and abandoned Iowans.”
