| Congressman Scott Perry was caught on audio disparaging Democratic veterans and servicemembers, alleging they only served our country to “get the credential” and that they “don’t support America.”
The New York Times first reported on Perry diminishing the service of Democratic veterans, and you can listen to his comments for yourself below:
Congressman Scott Perry: “The pressure is not on, and there wouldn’t be any pressure on Democrats anyhow, because they hate the military. That’s only a credential that they get when they want to run for office. They join the military, they serve a little bit. They get the credential and then they run for office and wear the uniform and say, look at me, I support America. But let’s face it, all their votes say they don’t support America.”
In response to Perry disparaging Democratic veterans and servicemembers, multiple members of Congress who wore the uniform blasted Perry:
Congressman Pat Ryan, Army: “I dare Scott to say that to me in person… Because I’d tell him the truth: I love this country and he’s an insurrectionist traitor.”
Congressman Chris Deluzio, Navy: … said he was not interested in a lecture “about my military service or love of country from anyone who was part of the plan to overthrow the 2020 election and rip our Constitution to shreds.”
