House Republicans decided to pack their bags and head home for five weeks after failing to fulfill any of the major legislative promises in Speaker Ryan’s 200-day agenda. And as has been true since January, there continues to be widespread backlash to House Republicans at home.
If Republicans thought they could heartlessly attempt to take healthcare from tens of millions of Americans, raise their costs and premiums, impose an unfair age tax, and destroy protections for people with preexisting conditions and NOT face the consequences through Election Day 2018…they were badly mistaken.
