To absolutely no one’s surprise, the race to the far-right in AZ-01 is getting messier by the minute.
Jay “In Lockstep with Trump” Feely and backbencher state lawmaker Joey Chaplik are in an ugly race to the bottom as they try to out-MAGA each other with their wildly unpopular agendas.
In the latest example, Chaplik hurled a racist comment at Feely for not being extreme enough on immigration. Chaplik’s social media post comes after Feely created a website dubbing Chaplik “No Show Joe,” referencing the former state lawmaker’s poor attendance record in the State House.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly: “No matter which flawed MAGA Republican emerges from this primary, it’s clear they are unfit to represent Arizona – and voters will reject them at the ballot box in November.”
