AZ-04 GOP Primary Heats Up as Candidate Kelly Cooper Meets with Trump and Key National Republicans

The competitive GOP primary in AZ-04 between NRCC-backed candidates Kelly Cooper and Tanya Wheeless is set to become more contentious as Cooper meets with high-profile Republicans.

Over the weekend, Cooper met with former president Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, and yesterday, he touted a meeting he had with the conservative super PAC Club for Growth.

Tanya Wheeless is sure to be feeling the pressure as Cooper meets with Trump and key national Republicans and their coveted endorsements remain up for grabs.

“The AZ-04 GOP primary is only growing more contentious as the Republican candidates compete to earn endorsements from the far right,” said DCCC Spokesperson Monica Robinson. “But both are losing options for Arizonans, who will reject their extreme agenda in November.”
