María Elvira Salazar is taking a page out of her old playbook and attempting to take credit for local investments that she fought against – this time $4.4 million for Cutler Bay.
Yesterday, Salazar made a rare public visit to her district to tout a $4.4 million check for two local projects to improve roadways and public safety. as well as improve water quality and strengthen coastal resilience. Salazar even acknowledges this funding is a result of the passage of the FY2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Unfortunately for the people of Florida’s 27th Congressional District, if Salazar had her way, these projects would have never been funded – because she voted against that very same legislation.
This is not the first time Salazar has been caught taking credit for funding she’s voted against. During her last term, Salazar posed with a giant check of $650,000 for her district despite voting against the bill that provided that funding. And, in a viral clip Salazar was caught in a blatant lie claiming she couldn’t remember voting against critical legislation that brought jobs and funding to her district.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“I guess being one of the most ineffective politicians South Florida has seen in decades doesn’t really matter if you just lie. In over four years in office, María Elvira Salazar has gotten exactly one bill signed into law… about migratory birds. Salazar knows her track record is a joke – we’re not going to let her hide from it anymore.” |
