Yesterday, the Republican-led Nebraska state senate rejected an extreme abortion ban for the second time in the past year. This may come as a bit of a surprise to Don Bacon, who “couldn’t tell you where the majority is at” on protecting abortion rights.
Bacon’s record in Congress belies his real intentions and clear support for a national abortion ban. Previously, Bacon:
Joined 227 other Republican members of Congress in signing an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe.
Co-sponsored a federal abortion ban that had no exceptions for rape or when the life of an individual is at risk.
Bacon’s assault on women’s freedoms is deeply unpopular and dangerous. He is unfit to represent Nebraskans.

Time and time again he has voted in Congress to restrict abortion access while his own state legislature rebukes similar efforts to ban essential care. He is profoundly misguided if he thinks Nebraskans will look past his flagrant disregard for their rights and freedoms in 2024.”
