According to the latest FEC filings, AZ-04 GOP candidate Tanya Wheeless received another $5,000 in Q1 from twice-rejected, unelected former Sen. Martha McSally’s PAC.
Wheeless, a former aide to McSally who served as her state director and deputy chief of staff, must explain to voters if she agrees with McSally’s extreme record, including:
-
Voting multiple times to repeal the Affordable Care Act,
-
Voting to replace the ACA with a GOP plan that would have stripped away protections for 2.8 million Arizonans with preexisting conditions,
-
“Supporting a plan to turn Medicare into a voucher program and ‘shift costs’ onto seniors,”
-
“Supporting raising the retirement age,” and
-
Stumping and voting for 2017 legislation that gave massive tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy, which increased the nation’s deficit by over $1 trillion.
Wheeless has already specifically endorsed the massive corporate giveaway in the Republican 2017 tax scam, but voters deserve to know if she supports the rest of bankroller and former employer McSally’s damaging record.
“Voters deserve to know if Tanya Wheeless agrees with her campaign bankroller and former employer’s positions on issues that are of enormous importance to Arizonans,” said DCCC Spokesperson Monica Robinson. “While Tanya Wheeless and Kelly Cooper line their pockets with money from some of the most damaging and dangerous flanks of the GOP, Rep. Greg Stanton is focused on delivering results for working everyday Arizonans.”
