Begich Boasts About Hurting Alaskan Families in Crisis

Nick Begich is once again proudly touting his vote for the GOP’s Big, Ugly Bill that stands to rip health care away from nearly 40,000 Alaskans and make it harder for almost 40,000 Alaskan households to put food on their tables.

REMINDER: Begich already said he had no doubt over his decision, that he was honored to vote for the bill and claims he secured a transformative victory for Alaska.

While Western Alaskans are still recovering from a catastrophic natural disaster, Begich made a public appearance to tout the very law that will make it harder for families to access care and support.

According to reporting, “Begich spent much of his 14-minute speech touting what he believes to be economic benefits that Native communities will reap from the budget reconciliation bill, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. He said it puts Alaska front and center…”

“The bill also makes major changes to Medicaid, cutting about a trillion dollars from the program over the next decade.”

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Alaskans deserve better than a representative who brags about ripping away health care and food assistance from working families, vulnerable children, and seniors in the middle of a crisis. It’s shameful.”
