| This week, House Republicans voted against canceling reckless tariffs that are spiking prices. And once again, Nick Begich is putting Washington first and Alaska last.
Begich voted to protect reckless tariffs that are hurting Alaska’s fishing, mining, travel, and tourism economies and raising costs on families – as new research found that American households could pay $2,300 more per year on average due to Begich’s tariff policy.
Even Senator Murkowski agrees tariffs are damaging to some of Alaska’s biggest industries. Anchorage businesses are less confident than they have been since the pandemic and two-thirds say they expect the economy to worsen this year thanks to Begich-backed policies.
REMINDER: Recent polling suggests Trump’s sweeping tariffs are deeply unpopular with the American people, with just 38% of Americans approving and an overwhelming 62% of people disapproving – up from 59% in June.
Begich will be forced to defend his tariff policy that is wreaking chaos on Alaska fishers, families, and businesses:
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Nick Begich can’t help but betray his constituents. After promising to lower costs, Begich voted to support cost-spiking tariffs that are decimating Alaska’s economy.” |
