Mike Johnson and House Republicans are privately plotting a partisan plan to destroy the Affordable Care Act and deny coverage for millions of hardworking Americans, including those with pre-existing conditions.
According to new reporting from POLITICO, GOP Leaders, including Johnson and Steve Scalise, instructed members to create a new health care plan that would repeal the Affordable Care Act, let the tax credits expire and plot a new plan that no one has seen.
The meeting came as Donald Trump said he would NOT sign legislation to extend the Affordable Care Act, despite a last-minute band-aid from several so-called moderate House Republicans who know just how popular an extension would be with the American people, including self-identified MAGA voters.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton: “House Republicans can’t decide if they want to destroy the Affordable Care Act or just let health care costs skyrocket for millions of hardworking Americans. Either way, it’s clear they are all-in on ripping away health care from their constituents and it’s going to cost them the majority.”
