But you wouldn’t know it from the alternate universe portrayed in dark money group American Action Network’s latest TV ad. With the backing of Big Pharma, their recent political ad rewrites history and roots against America’s economic recovery.
This isn’t the first time AAN has had a shaky relationship with the truth — in June, an analysis by the Atlanta Journal Constitution slammed the Republican group for running ads about votes that “never happened.”
Here are the facts:
FACT: The American economy is surging and has already rebounded to pre-pandemic levels after House Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan to build back better with strong vaccine rollouts, relief to working class families, and record job growth.
FACT: House Democrats cut taxes for 88% of families with children in the United States with the expansion of the Child Tax Credit. Republicans unanimously voted ‘no.’
FACT: Democrats in the House are fighting to lower the cost of health care and help their constituents afford life-saving medications. Big Pharma knows that Republicans in Congress will keep drug prices — and their profits — sky high.
“Breaking news, a Republican-aligned dark money group is lying on TV to trick voters,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “No amount of money will change the fact that House Democrats are back home telling their constituents how they delivered a middle class tax-cut, threw a lifeline to small businesses, and kickstarted our economy, and Republicans are coming back to their districts empty-handed.”
