The Big, Ugly Bill passed by the so-called moderate House Republicans will have devastating consequences to America’s health care system and undermine years of progress under the Affordable Care Act.
A new analysis from PolitiFact finds that health care costs will rise for everyone. Without an extension to the Affordable Care Act tax credits, premiums are expected to rise 75% on average next year.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that 17 million Americans could lose access to their health care. Rural hospitals will close, nursing homes will shut down, and health care costs will rise – dramatically – for millions of more people.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“House Republicans lied for months about the devastating impacts of Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill, but facts matter: millions of Americans will lose their health care, while costs will rise.” |
