| House Republicans’ partisan Big, Ugly Bill is a trainwreck.
The American people HATE the GOP Tax Scam, according to a new poll from Navigator Research, revealing that the measure has actually gotten more unpopular in the year since it became law.
Overall, 53% of Americans oppose the Big, Ugly Bill, with the bill underwater by 9 points among independents.
Not only is the overall law wildly unpopular, but when voters hear about the specific impacts of it, people hate it even more. 60% of Americans nationwide believe the legislation has made their costs go up. 66% of respondents oppose the Medicaid cuts. 60% are concerned by the deep cuts to SNAP benefits. An overwhelming majority of people nationwide believe the specific policy pieces have benefited the rich and big corporations rather than everyday Americans.
REMINDER: The survey comes after the one year mark of GOP passage. The DCCC is holding vulnerable Republicans accountable for the health care crisis they created. As more of the public continues to feel the pain of rising Republican-caused costs, House Democrats will continue to prosecute the case that the surge in health care costs lays squarely at the feet of House Republicans – costing them the majority.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The messaging war over the Big, Ugly Bill is over – and Republicans lost. Everything is more expensive because of the Big, Ugly Bill, and voters know House Republicans are to blame. This extreme agenda is crushing working families and communities to reward the rich and shameless. The phony GOP moderates are going down in November.” |
