Bill Huizenga-Backed Tariffs Raise Costs and Threaten Michigan Manufacturing

Trump’s sweeping, reckless tariffs are threatening Michigan’s manufacturing jobs, including Michigan-based Ford, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that “[t]he automaker most reliant on U.S. manufacturing is among the hardest hit by tariffs.”

This comes as new analysis has found that tariffs are increasing US factory costs and “could lead to stagnation of wages, if not layoffs and closures of plants.”

And Bill Huizenga backed these tariffs every step of the way, even admitting he knew Michiganders would face higher prices.

Now, Huizenga owes Michiganders an explanation about the tariffs he supports:
  • Huizenga-backed tariffs could increase American factory costs by as much as 4.5% and threaten Michigan manufacturing jobs.
  • Ford faces a “$2 billion tariff hit” thanks to Huizenga-backed tariffs.
  • Howard Miller, a clock and furniture manufacturer based in Zeeland in MI-04, announced its closure last month after more than 100 years due to concerns over tariffs.
