At a protest in Binghamton yesterday, voters in New York’s 19th Congressional District held vulnerable New York Republican Marc Molinaro to the fire for turning his back on New York families by voting to protect criminally-indicted Rep. George Santos.
Molinaro stalled the effort to expel serial liar Santos by referring the expulsion resolution to the House Ethics Committee – caving once again to MAGA extremists’ desperate attempts to hold on to the GOP’s slim, chaotic majority. Extremist Speaker Kevin McCarthy recently returned the favor by padding Molinaro’s campaign coffers during a fundraiser in NY-19.
Today’s protest was organized by progressive groups Citizen Action and Indivisible Binghamton. They argue that rather than voting to have Santos referred to an ethics investigation, he should have voted to expel him.
The protestors claim that Molinaro has stated his commitment to removing Santos from office, but when it came down to a vote, he did not follow through.
