| Today, the DCCC announced that Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie has been added to the committee’s highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Harvie, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as he runs for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.
“Bob Harvie is a proud son of Bucks County who has an undeniable record of showing up and serving the community that raised him. Bob is the strongest candidate to take on Brian Fitzpatrick and finally give Bucks and Montgomery County families a leader in Congress who will stand up to Donald Trump and make life more affordable,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.
Bob Harvie is a fourth-generation Bucks County resident who is fighting to restore the promise of the American Dream. Bob is a proud card-carrying union member who spent 20 years teaching social studies at Bucks County Technical High School. A twice elected Bucks County Commissioner who has never lost an election, Bob has delivered balanced budgets and a more than 90% bipartisan voting record because his North Star is improving the lives of the people he was elected to serve. Unlike Brian Fitzpatrick who went to Washington and now takes his marching orders from Trump and his special interest donors, Bob will never forget where he came from and will always put the community that raised him first.
Recent polling shows that Harvie leads Fitzpatrick once voters hear both candidates’ message. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the race for PA-01 “could help determine which party controls the U.S. House” and declared that Harvie is “Democrats’ best chance of defeating Brian Fitzpatrick,” citing the fact that he is “battle-tested” and focused on “bread-and-butter affordability issues.”
