Bob Healey Silent on How He Would Vote to Protect NJ from Gun Violence

Healey’s silence makes clear he would have voted “no” to make New Jersey kids safer

In response to the onslaught of mass shootings across the nation, House Democrats took action and voted to pass the Protecting Our Kids Act. Bob Healey continues to hide from New Jersey voters on how he would have voted on a bill to:

  • Raise the age to purchase a semi-automatic weapon from 18 to 21;

  • Ban the sale of large capacity magazines;

  • Crack down gun trafficking and straw purchases;

  • Outlaw bump stocks, which effectively turn semiautomatic weapons into machine guns – what was used in the 2017 Las Vegas massacre;

  • Outlaw ghost guns, which lack traceable serial numbers and have increasingly been used in violent crimes;

  • And promote the safe storage of firearms through precautionary measures.

Bob Healey can’t be trusted to choose public safety over the gun lobby. He’s still made no comment on the Uvalde shooting.

DCCC spokesperson James Singer:
“Bob Healey would rather cower to the gun lobby and extremism than protect our children and communities from senseless acts of gun violence.”
