Eighty-nine years after it was established, Social Security is bringing dignity and peace of mind to New Yorkers
Eighty-nine years after Social Security was created, Brandon Williams and his Republican colleagues are trying to cut Central New York and Mohawk Valley seniors’ hard-earned benefits.
Additionally, House Republicans on the Appropriations Committee voted to cut nearly half a billion dollars from the Social Security Administration, which would close field offices, extend wait times, and delay disability claims nationwide.
Brandon Williams has previously suggested he was open to cutting Social Security, telling constituents at a town hall that younger workers “should be concerned about Social Security. And I don’t have an answer to that.”
Meanwhile, John Mannion will always protect Social Security, and his strong record in the New York State Senate reflects that.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Brandon Williams won’t stand up for seniors in Central New York and the Mohawk Valley because he is all in on House Republicans’ plans to cut Social Security and deny seniors their hard-earned benefits. Voters will make sure to reject Williams’ dangerous agenda.”
