Tonight, MAGA extremist Brandon Williams announced his re-election campaign to Congress in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
Here’s a little reminder of Williams’ extreme voting record in Washington:
Party Loyalist
In Congress, Brandon Williams has voted with Republican extremists Marjorie Taylor Greene 89% of the time and Kevin McCarthy 94% of the time.
Anti-Choice Extremist
On the campaign trail, Brandon Williams told The Post-Standard on abortion: “The federal government needs to stay out of this. The states have to resolve this.”
BUT, in Congress, Williams co-sponsored H.R. 7 – a fervently anti-abortion bill that would prohibit states like New York from including abortion coverage in private ACA health care plans.
Even worse, Williams’ office has refused to answer questions on how the bill will impact Central New York women.
Opposing Public Safety
Brandon Williams is a so-called moderate who campaigned on public safety, but, in Congress, has done nothing to address the concerns of Central New Yorkers – including refusing to sign onto efforts to strengthen background checks.
Flip-Flopping on Critical Legislation
On the campaign trail, Brandon Williams dismissed the CHIPS and Science Act as a “corporate welfare package.”
BUT, following passage of this historic legislation, Williams flip-flopped to support the bill days after Micron announced it would invest up to $100 billion to build a computer chip factory in NY-22’s Clay, and has continued to push for investment in his district made possible by this law.
Covering Up for Santos
Williams previously called on serial fraudster George Santos to resign – but when the time came to expel Santos, Williams voted to protect his federally-indicted colleague and helped to maintain Kevin McCarthy’s slim majority.
