BREAKING: 37th House Republican Announces Retirement

Democrats flipped 41 seats in 2018 after 34 GOP retirements

The 37th House Republican has officially called it quits, the most number of Congressional Republicans to retire since at least 1930.

Even worse for Republicans: Sam Graves’ departure is an open admission that he does NOT believe he will hold the gavel of the coveted Transportation Committee.

A significant portion of these vacancies are in high-stakes battleground districts. Democrats have already set their sights on several of these now-open seats, including:

  • AZ-01
  • CA-48
  • IA-02
  • KY-06
  • MI-10
  • MT-01
  • NE-02
  • SC-01

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Even Republicans know they are destined for an epic defeat in November. The only one with a phony sense of optimism is the Deputy Speaker. Good riddance.”
