After calling Trump “offensive and disgusting” Brian Fitzpatrick now says he could support him again
Brian Fitzpatrick appears to be walking back his decision to disavow Donald Trump. His shameless political waffling lays bare his unwillingness to tell the voters of Pennsylvania the truth. In a National Journal story today, Brian Fitzpatrick logged his third and most shameless position on his support of his Republican leader.
- Second: Brian disavowed Trump in October saying his actions were “offensive and disgusting and cannot be rationalized or ignored regardless of context.”
- Today: Brian Fitzpatrick walked back his already politically craven decision to denounce Donald Trump. Promising more obstruction and gridlock in Congress, Brian Fitzpatrick told the National Journal that “he will spend the next several days contemplating who to back, while casting himself as a check against either a Clinton or a Trump presidency.”
We expected this development, when days after disavowing Trump, at least one voter in PA-08 claims to have met with Brian Fitzpatrick, during which he reassured the voter that he still supported Trump.
“Brian Fitzpatrick continues to demonstrate his cowardly stance on Donald Trump, again proving that he is unfit to represent the people of Pennsylvania,” said Jermaine House of the DCCC. “Brian Fitzpatrick has thrown principled leadership out the window by walking back his decision to disavow Trump just days before the election. When Washington Party Bosses plucked Brian from California to run for Congress because of his last name, someone should have given him a lesson in political courage.”
