BREAKING: David Valadao Is One of The Most Vulnerable Congressmen in the Country

Valadao ranked #17 most vulnerable Congressman in the country in National Journal’s 2026 House Power Rankings

The National Journal’s first 2026 House Power Rankings
listed CA-22 as one of the most competitive races next November, spelling BIG trouble for David Valadao.

“Valadao lost his seat in 2018 for his vote to slash the Affordable Care Act […] After Valadao voted for Trump’s reconciliation bill, which will cut Medicaid, Democrats again think they’re poised to defeat […] Valadao in the district that has the highest percentage of Medicaid recipients in the country.”

This ranking comes as no surprise after
Valadao cast a cruel, unpopular, and decisive vote to kick his constituents off their health care, rip food off the tables of California families, and make life more expensive for Californians – all so he can give Republicans’ billionaire donors more tax breaks.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
David Valadao’s disastrous record in Congress has solidified him as one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the entire country. He’s seen how this story ends, and make no mistake, in 466 days we’re going to send Valadao packing again.”
