| House Republicans on the Budget Committee advanced a partisan budget to fund Trump’s reckless war of choice in the Middle East – once again failing to address the cost of living concerns confronting American families today.
Instead of lowering costs for working families, the Republican budget instead sticks taxpayers with the bill and adds tens of billions more to the national debt.
This latest GOP boondoggle comes as the American people are growing even more sour on Republican rule in Washington. According to a new battleground poll from Navigator Research, a shocking 48% of battleground constituents disapprove of Republican incumbents in Washington, falling by 8 points since Republicans advanced the Big, Ugly Bill, which enacted the largest cut to Medicaid and food assistance in history to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Support for House Democrats amongst battleground voters increased by 3 points in that time.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Republicans are poised to make their midterm message to the American people all about spending taxpayer dollars on an unpopular, price-hiking forever war in the Middle East. Good luck with that.”
