These new cuts come just weeks after the so-called moderates in the House voted for the largest cut to Medicaid and food assistance in American history to give massive tax breaks to their billionaire donors. The Big, Ugly Bill is the most unpopular bill in modern American history – and the DCCC is on offense, holding every single House Republican who voted for it accountable.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that 17 million Americans could lose access to their health care as a result of the Big, Ugly Bill. Hospitals are at risk of closing, nursing homes could shut down, and health care costs will rise for millions of more people.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“17 million uninsured Americans wasn’t enough for the so-called moderates. House Republicans are continuing to remind the American people that they don’t work for them, they work for the billionaires, and this cruel agenda will be the reason they lose the majority next year.” |
