| Vulnerable GOP Congressman Greg Murphy showed his true colors by trying to kill the ACA subsidies that over 880,000 families across North Carolina rely on for essential health care.
During a closed-door meeting with House Republicans this week, Murphy went out of his way to push for these tax credits to be eliminated – a move that would cause premiums for his constituents to skyrocket by a staggering 457%, or $2,750, on average, for a 60-year-old couple making $85,000 a year.
REMINDER: Yesterday, the DCCC added Murphy to the 2026 Districts in Play list, highlighting the vulnerable position Murphy has put himself in by rubber-stamping House Republicans’ wildly unpopular agenda.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Greg Murphy’s attempt to kill these essential tax credits is a slap in the face to hardworking North Carolina families who will see their premiums skyrocket – and lose their health care coverage entirely simply because they can’t afford it. Voters won’t forget this betrayal, and they will hold Murphy accountable at the ballot box next November.” |
