The National Journal’s first 2026 House Power Rankings listed MI-10 as one of the most competitive races next November, spelling BIG trouble for Michigan Republicans.
“James has left the seat open to run for governor… No major Republican has launched a bid yet. Competitive open seats have proven particularly volatile in Michigan since 2022, as three of four have flipped parties; Democrats hope to add another to that list.”
This comes as no surprise considering John James is abandoning his seat after casting a cruel, unpopular, and decisive vote to kick his constituents off their health care, rip food off the tables of Michigan families, and make life more expensive for Michiganders- all so he can give Republicans’ billionaire donors more tax breaks.
