| Bombshell reporting from NBC News is exposing Ralph Alvarado for who he really is: a two-faced politician willing to say anything to get elected.
NBC News reports that Alvarado “has removed a series of pro-Trump messages and a photo of them standing together from his campaign website” as costs rise, Washington corruption runs rampant, and polling shows a tied race in Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District.
Alvarado’s website previously described him as “one of President Trump’s earliest supporters” and “a national leader in the America First movement.” Now, every single mention of Trump has been scrubbed.

- Ralph Alvarado is running with Donald Trump’s endorsement in a House district Kentucky that the president carried by double digits in 2024. But since winning the Republican primary in May, he has removed a series of pro-Trump messages and a photo of them standing together from his campaign website, according to an NBC News review.
- Previously, the homepage of Alvarado’s site trumpeted his support for Trump, painting himself as an “AMERICA FIRST FIGHTER” in the state’s 6th Congressional District.
- “President Trump needs more allies in Congress to deliver on his bold vision to Make America Great Again. With your help, I will be that fighter,” Alvarado, a physician and former state senator, wrote on his website.
- Further down, the website displayed a photo of Alvarado and Trump together, with both of them smiling and the president flashing a thumbs-up. Alvarado won the GOP primary on May 19 for the seat being vacated by Rep. Andy Barr, a Republican, as he runs for the Senate.
- But since then, Alvarado’s message has shifted.
- Where Alvarado’s website used to call him an “AMERICA FIRST FIGHTER,” it now says he would offer “INDEPENDENT LEADERSHIP” for Kentucky, according to an earlier version of the website captured by the Internet Archive.
- The caption that promised he’d deliver on Trump’s MAGA vision has been replaced by this paragraph: “Healthcare isn’t a talking point to me — it’s been my life’s work. In Congress, I’ll work with both parties to fight for affordable healthcare, lower costs, and practical solutions that help Kentucky families.”
- The photo of Alvarado and Trump together is now gone, replaced by a shot of just Alvarado.
- An earlier biography on the campaign website labeled Alvarado “one of President Trump’s earliest supporters” and touted his 2016 distinction as “the only Latino” to speak in support of Trump at that year’s Republican convention. It described Alvarado as “a national leader in the America First movement.”
- Now, all five mentions of Trump that used to be on Alvarado’s homepage have been deleted. His revised website makes no reference to the president or to “America First” or the “Make America Great Again” movement.
- A publicly archived version of Alvarado’s website shows that he still had the mentions and photo with Trump up through at least June 9, after he won the primary, meaning the changes were made after the general election campaign had begun.
- Alvarado’s campaign didn’t return messages seeking comment.
- The pivot comes amid a difficult political environment for Republicans as the midterm elections quickly approach. Trump’s approval ratings have sagged nationally as voters have soured on his handling of the economy and the Iran war.
- Alvarado is running in a district that Trump carried by 15 points in 2024, according to an NBC News Decision Desk analysis.
- Trump gave his “Complete and Total Endorsement” to Alvarado for the House seat just ahead of the May 19 primary, saying on Truth Social that he is an “America First Patriot” and a “true friend to MAGA.”
- Alvarado will face Democrat Zach Dembo, a former federal prosecutor and Navy JAG officer, in the general election. Last week, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added Dembo to its “red to blue” list, a signal to donors and party activists that it believes the race is winnable and worth investing in as Democrats vie for a House majority.
