50 GOP National Security Experts Say Trump Would Make U.S. Less Safe
In an open letter published yesterday, 50 top Republican national security experts raised the alarm at the prospect of a Trump presidency, confirming that Trump would put our national security at risk. This letter comes days after Brian Fitzpatrick declared his support of Donald Trump because of his focus on national security.
The experts said:
“Mr. Trump lacks the character, values, and experience to be president.”
“He weakens U.S. moral authority as the leader of the free world.”
“He appears to lack basic knowledge about the belief in the U.S. Constitution, U.S. laws, and U.S. institutions, including religious tolerance, freedom of the press, and an independent judiciary.”
They conclude that he “would be the most reckless president in American history.”
“These GOP national security experts are saying what we have known all along: Brian Fitzpatrick is supporting someone who is unfit to be president,” said Jermaine House of the DCCC. “The fact that Brian Fitzpatrick wants Trump – who would make our country less safe – to be president is unpatriotic and flies in the face of what dozens of national security experts in his own Party are saying.”
