Brian Fitzpatrick: MAGA Mike Is Just Like Us!

During a No Labels event last night, vulnerable PA-01 Republican Brian Fitzpatrick was “singing the praises” of Speaker Mike Johnson, claiming the anti-choice election denier is not an extremist. Fitzpatrick argued that Mike Johnson was “not a Trump Republican,” only to have Donald Trump moments later give him the title of “MAGA Mike.”

• Johnson pushed for a total abortion ban without exceptions and voted for legislation to punish doctors for providing essential reproductive care.

• Johnson served as the chair of the Republican Study Committee, leading their efforts to slash Social Security and Medicare.

• Johnson was instrumental in the plan to overturn the 2020 election – the New York Times named him “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections.”

• Johnson wrote in support of criminalizing gay sex and wanted to ban gay marriage. He also described the LGBTQ+ community as “sinful” and “destructive.”
