Brian Fitzpatrick Shares Blame for the Overturning of Roe v. Wade

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision overturning 50 years if precedent, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick must defend his unpopular, draconian record of failing to protect Roe and block access to abortion, and answer for his party’s plan for a nationwide abortion ban.

  • Every single House Republican, including Fitzpatrick, voted against protecting access to an abortion and protecting a woman’s right to make her own decisions.

  • Fitzpatrick stood by as 126 House Republicans signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe

Make no mistake: Fitzpatrick is on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

Fitzpatrick will be held accountable for his role in recent decision and his party’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

  • What does Fitzpatrick say to the women living in fear now that Republicans have ripped away 50 years of constitutionally guaranteed freedom and protections?

  • Does Fitzpatrick support a proposed nationwide ban?

  • Does Fitzpatrick support exceptions in cases of rape, incest or harm to the woman?

DCCC spokesperson Helen Kalla:
“Fitzpatrick bears responsibility for the devastating decision overturning Roe. Fitzpatrick must explain his record of attacking women’s personal freedoms and answer whether he supports his party leaders’ plan to impose a draconian nationwide abortion ban.”
