GOP Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick fashions himself to be a moderate who seeks to solve problems — but when he had the chance to benefit more than 100,000 children in his district, he voted no.
Starting today, the Child Tax Credit, passed as part of the American Rescue Plan, will benefit roughly 39 million households and 88% of children.
In Fitzpatrick’s district alone:
- 103,700 children will benefit from this tax credit
- 4,000 children will be lifted out of poverty
- 34,700 households will benefit an average of $2,400 annually

“When it came time to decide between helping 100,000 children and partisan politics, Brian Fitzpatrick chose the latter. As Fitzpatrick joined Republicans in opposing this vital aid to families, Democrats delivered.” |
