| Nick Begich wants to talk about promises made to Alaskans, despite last night’s hours-long speech never mentioning Alaska. But key reminder: Alaska families have already paid over $2,345 more on average due to his cost-spiking agenda.
Here’s how Begich has wrecked the economy for working families:
- Begich voted to rubber-stamp reckless tariffs that have cost the average American family more than $1,700 per year and caused chaos for Alaskan small businesses, fishers, and miners.
- Grocery costs are up by $310 under unified GOP control of Washington.
- Energy bills have increased by an average of 13%.
- Alaskan monthly premiums for the Affordable Care Act were set to soar by 346% following the expiration of the ACA tax credits, which Begich voted against extending.
- After ripping away health care from over 35,000 of his constituents, Begich’s failure to act caused an 11% drop in ACA enrollment from Alaskan families who could no longer afford care.
And reminder: Begich, who is in the top 1% himself, voted to give handouts to billionaires and big corporations instead of real tax relief to Alaska families.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Nick Begich promised Alaskans he would fix the economy. Instead, families and businesses are struggling because he’s rubber-stamped reckless tariffs and a billionaires-first agenda that has made everything from groceries to housing to health care more expensive.” |
