Brooke Rollins: “We Have Failed” The American People

Ag Secretary Says Quiet Part Out Loud 24 Hours Before 42 Million Americans Lose SNAP
Standing next to Speaker Johnson, Brooke Rollins, Trump’s Ag Secretary, made clear that the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans are failing the American people:

REPORTER: What do you say to the millions of people who stand to lose their food stamp benefits? What should they do? 

ROLLINS: “My message to America is first the fact that your government is failing you right now. That poverty is not red or blue. It is not a Republican or Democrat issue. […] We have failed you.”
This summer, House Republicans – including the so-called moderates – voted to enact a $187 billion cut to SNAP – representing the largest cut to food assistance programs in American history in order to reward their billionaire donors with permanent tax breaks.

Now, Republicans are allowing 42 million Americans to lose access to their food benefits as a result of the shutdown they started.
