Last night, instead of trying to find a way to avert a government shutdown that will hurt countless Wisconsinites, Bryan Steil voted for legislation that would restrict access to safe, legal abortion medication mifepristone – one of the most common methods for an abortion.
Steil has repeatedly tried to chip away at reproductive freedom: He voted against codifying the right to an abortion, opposed the Right to Contraception Act, and urged the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. Steil’s extreme anti-abortion record earned him an A+ rating from SBA List, whose mission is to “end abortion.”
REMINDER: Recently, the chair of the GOP Conference reiterated the Republican plot to enact a nationwide abortion ban – asserting Republicans “will get [it] done.”
