Bryan Steil voted today for extremist Jim Jordan for speaker in the chaotic, ongoing GOP leadership fight.
Steil had every opportunity to embrace a bipartisan governing coalition, but chose to enable his far-right colleagues instead.
Thanks to Steil, Speaker candidate Jim Jordan now has been given the greenlight to push an extreme, dangerous agenda that:
- Defunds federal law enforcement.
- Passes a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions.
- Repeals investments that are creating good-paying jobs and reinvigorating American manufacturing.
It’s no surprise Steil is standing with Jordan – He’s pushing the same agenda of restricting abortion access and threatening access to seniors’ hard-earned Social Security and Medicare. And while Steil continues to ignore the Farm Bill that expired 17 days ago, it turns out his choice for Speaker has left Wisconsin farmers behind and voted against every single Farm Bill during his time in Congress.
