Bryan Steil is rolling out legislation recommendations that would limit access to the ballot box and is hiding it under the guise of increasing “voter confidence.”
Steil, however, was caught hiring a staffer tasked with election integrity who was involved in the fake elector scheme in Arizona. When asked about why he hired someone involved in this scheme to oversee elections, Steil dismissed the staffer’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election as not “terribly relevant.”
Though Steil pays lip service to caring about “strengthening Americans’ trust in our elections,” he has yet to forcefully denounce his party’s baseless and dangerous claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“If Bryan Steil actually cared about increasing voter confidence, he would start by not hiring staffers for election oversight who have actively tried to overturn a free and fair election. Once again, Steil is falling in line behind his party as they continue to attack voting and our democracy.”
