This weekend, full funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) officially expired – forcing more than 426,000 Wisconsin families to face stark price hikes on their monthly internet bills.
The ACP – a product of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – serves 60,115 households in Wisconsin’s First Congressional District, lowering families’ monthly internet bills.
Meanwhile, a majority of House Republicans – including Bryan Steil – actively called for this program to expire through their Republican Study Committee, whose budget calls for the end of the program.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“At every turn, Bryan Steil caves to DC politicians at the expense of Wisconsin families. Steil isn’t just leaving Wisconsinites behind; he’s actively raising costs and making it harder to make ends meet.”
