To no one’s surprise, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid-cutting fanatic Kevin Coughlin confirmed last week that he would have voted YES on the GOP tax scam that slashes Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax breaks to billionaires.
What does that mean for OH-13?
According to new analysis based on the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) data, the cuts Miller, Turner, and Carey championed will lead to:
- 27,896 total people in OH-13 losing health insurance coverage.
- 17,696 people in OH-13 losing health insurance coverage provided by Medicaid.
- 10,200 people in OH-13 losing health insurance coverage provided through the Affordable Care Act due to cuts to ACA enhanced premium tax credits.
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Proven loser Kevin Coughlin wants to kick nearly 28,000 Northeast Ohioans off their health insurance to give tax breaks to the ultra-rich. There’s a clear reason why OH-13 has already rejected Coughlin and his extreme agenda, and they’ll reject him again next year.”
