| As Californians stare down the January 31st open enrollment deadline for Covered California, the average Golden State family is already facing $975 more per year in premium costs.
But in Darrell Issa’s district, the annual financial burden on lower-income families is even higher.
- San Diego County: $1,185 annual increase
- Riverside County: $1,192 annual increase
Darrell Issa is directly responsible for this crisis of skyrocketing health care costs. He voted against extending ACA tax credits – relief that would have helped families afford coverage. He cast a deciding vote for the largest cut to Medicaid in history – stripping coverage from over 32,000 of his constituents. And he has voted to repeal the ACA 17 times.
In review, Issa’s constituents are facing some of the highest cost increases in the state, or are at risk of losing health care coverage altogether – and he hasn’t lifted a finger to stop it.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Darrell Issa is pricing families out of health care across San Diego and Riverside counties. Premiums are soaring, tens of thousands are losing coverage, and Issa is too busy looking out for himself to care. Come November, voters will make him pay for this failure.” |
