CA Republicans Think Voters Don’t Deserve the Truth

While McCarthy twists in his lies, Kiley and Jones run scared

California Republicans are lying to and dodging the press because they think voters don’t deserve the truth.

Last week, House Minority Leader and California Rep. Kevin McCarthy claimed reporting from the New York Times’ was “totally false and wrong,” only to be caught in a lie when recorded audio confirmed the minority leader believed Trump should resign for inciting a violent insurrection.

California Republicans Scott Jones and Kevin Kiley, who are duking it out to advance to the general election in the congressional race for California’s 3rd, appear to be taking lessons in spinelessness from their Republican leader.

This week, both Jones and Kiley refused to participate in the Sacramento Bee’s congressional editorial interview. In previous editorial interviews, Kiley made waves by dodging questions about the legitimacy of the 2020 election. Now, as a House candidate, Kiley is going one step further by dodging press altogether in a pathetic attempt to hide his out-of-touch views from voters. Meanwhile, Scott Jones will only speak to outlets that allow him to spew spoon-fed talking points.

DCCC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy
“From Kevin McCarthy to Scott Jones and Kevin Kiley, Republicans are terrified that voters will find out the truth of their empty loyalty and bankrupt agenda.”
