California Republicans in the Wilderness

The headlines say it all: 

• Voters delivered a “commanding win,” an “overwhelming” and “decisive victory,” and “a stunning rebuke” of the Republican Party.
• Now, Ken Calvert, Young Kim, David Valadao and their fellow MAGA loyalists are “increasingly irrelevant,” “on the run,” and in a “fight for their political lives.”
• As CalMatters wrote: “With the passage of Proposition 50, California Republicans are poised to lose five congressional seats in next year’s midterms — and with them, any remaining shred of national influence they once held.”

In CA-40, Calvert and Kim are locked in a GOP cage match – sprinting to the right, fighting for Trump’s blessing, and burning through millions to compete for who can harm Southern Californians the most.
