As Republicans desperately try to divert attention from their dangerous and extreme anti-abortion position, Kevin McCarthy is in Michigan trying to prop up failing candidate Paul Junge, a fellow Californian and carpetbagger trying to buy a seat in Congress.
Junge spent at least 23 years in California and graduated from University of California, Berkeley, and the University of San Diego Law School, only moving to Michigan to run for Congress. The Detroit News recently called out Junge’s campaign for running an ad that “minimizes his time out of state.” Junge already failed at running for Congress once, running in a different district and losing in 2020. Now Junge has come to mid-Michigan, where he has never lived, using his family’s wealth to try and mislead voters again.
McCarthy is traveling to Michigan because he knows Junge will be a loyal supporter of Republicans’ extremist agenda, including banning abortions and cutting Social Security and Medicare. Kevin McCarthy is an extremist looking for accomplices in Washington and fellow Californian Junge fits the bill.
DCCC Spokesperson Matt Corridoni:
“I guess it’s no surprise that a fellow Californian would parachute into Michigan and try to prop up Paul Junge’s failing congressional campaign. Mid-Michigan knows that Paul Junge is not from here and would be just another vote for an extreme Washington Republican agenda to ban abortion and cut Social Security and Medicare. Voters have already rejected Paul Junge once and will do so again this November.
