Californians Deserve to Know: Does Scott Baugh Support Efforts to Outlaw IVF?

As families in Alabama are coping with the painful blow to reproductive care from the state Supreme Court’s latest ruling, Republican Scott Baugh has kept quiet on his own beliefs.

It’s no wonder why. When serving as Chair of the Orange County Republicans, Scott Baugh affirmed his opposition to abortion rights and opened the door for pregnant women to face legal repercussions for seeking abortions.

With the Life at Conception Act, House Republicans are on a mission to impose similar restrictions on IVF and fertility treatments as the Alabama Supreme Court ruling – and ban abortion nationwide without exceptions in cases of rape or incest.

Californians deserve to know: why is Baugh silent on efforts to outlaw fertility care like IVF?

DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“The Alabama Supreme Court decision threatening IVF is the latest effort by extremists to chip away at women’s constitutional freedoms and deny them access to essential reproductive care. Time and again, Scott Baugh refuses to protect the freedoms of California women, no matter how aggressive the attacks – and voters will reject his extremism this November.”
