CALLED OUT: Jim Bognet Holds onto Money from GOP Candidate Accused of Voter Fraud

PA-08 Candidate Jim Bognet’s hypocrisy on election integrity gets called out as he guards $5,800 in donations

In case you missed it: NRCC-backed, PA-08 GOP candidate Jim Bognet was called out for his hypocrisy when it comes to election integrity.

Bognet accepted $5,800 from fellow NRCC-backed congressional candidate Matt Mowers, who admitted to voting in two states during the 2016 Republican presidential primary. The double-vote may have been a violation of federal election law and has received widespread backlash.

Bognet’s refusal to return Mowers’ money is egregious coming from a candidate who has made election integrity his platform, as the American Independent reported:

“Bognet is running on a platform of securing elections, saying in an issues tab of his campaign website that, “Election Integrity should not be a blue or red issue; every American deserves fair and honest elections.”

“I will fight to require a strong voter-ID for all ballots and audit the vote. No drop boxes, no non-signature verified mail-in ballots, and no more rigged elections!” Bognet wrote.”

Will Jim Bognet return double-voting Mowers’ money or will he be a hypocrite on one of the cornerstones of his GOP primary election campaign?

DCCC spokesperson James Singer:
“Jim Bognet’s silence when a member of his own party allegedly commits voter fraud can be bought for $5800.”
