Calvert’s Crusade Against Benefits For California Seniors

Far-right Republican Ken Calvert has claimed he “will continue to prioritize our veterans and seniors” in Congress. Unfortunately for Calvert, his actual votes don’t match up.

Here’s how Calvert has actually voted against California seniors:

• Calvert voted against the Inflation Reduction Act – including key provisions that will improve drug affordability and create an annual out-of-pocket cap for seniors and people with disabilities with Medicare Part D.

• Calvert voted to cut housing funding for LGBTQ+ seniors – making it more difficult for vulnerable senior citizens to afford a roof over their heads with no proposed alternative assistance.

• Calvert voted in favor of extreme Republican budget cuts that would have decimated Social Security and Medicare for millions of Americans — including thousands of residents in his district.
